The Wilson-Smith Golf League (WSGL) is a thriving community of people recovering from Alcohol and/or Substance Use Disorder who bond over their shared love for the game of golf. Starting with 11 sober golfers and one Al-Anon member in the suburbs of Philadelphia in 2001, the Wilson-Smith Golf League of the Delaware Valley has over 130 active members and counting. Blending the principles of recovery and the rules of golf, the WSGL has created a unique fellowship that greatly enhances the quality of their members’ lives. Our mission is to support and promote addiction recovery for individuals struggling with alcoholism, substance use, and their families by fostering meaningful connection through the game of golf. Through structured league participation, we create a safe, welcoming environment where members can build community, rediscover purpose, and experience the healing power of fellowship and sport.

Our vision is to build a national network of sober golf leagues in cities and communities across the United States. By uniting individuals in recovery through the shared love of the game, we aim to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space where players can compete, connect, and thrive—both on and off the course. We believe that through this growing network, we can foster lasting change, strengthen recovery journeys, and inspire hope through fellowship and golf.

Northern Texas
